P.U.L.S.E. – Staying in the Moment

In today’s fast-moving world, it's easy to get caught in the undertow of distractions, stress, and expectations. We lose our center. But staying grounded begins with understanding spiritual wisdom—the kind that anchors us through every wave life throws our way.

Spiritual wisdom is the ability to see life through a deeper lens. It’s believing in something greater than yourself. It’s the why behind it all—the deeper purpose that gives your journey meaning. For me, that foundation is God. His presence is what keeps me grounded when everything else tries to pull me off course. However, that may be rooted from another place with you, its up to you to determine where your why is rooted and allow that to guide you.

Spiritual wisdom doesn’t always have all the answers, but it gives you a place to stand. It’s knowing that even when life is uncertain, you are not alone—and that there is purpose in the process.

That’s why I use P.U.L.S.E.—a spiritual rhythm and reminder to stay in the moment, its rooted in faith, and not easily shaken by distraction.

P – Pause with Purpose

Pause—with intention, not distraction.

Take a breath. Whisper a prayer. Let your spirit settle. When you pause, you step out of the noise and back into peace. It’s not just about slowing down—it’s about becoming aware of the why behind what you're doing.

This is where presence begins.

You’re not here to impress—you’re here to be. To show up fully for the moment. Whether it’s a conversation, a career move, an interview, a friendship, or therapy—this moment has meaning. And you chose to be here.

So ask yourself: Why am I here—really? What do I hope to gain from this moment? How can I stay present and true to who God created me to be?

When you pause with purpose, you remember your reason. You realign with grace. You step into the now—not rushed, not reactive—but rooted.

Let this moment matter. It’s not just a pause—it’s a sacred reset.

U – Understand the Distraction

What’s pulling your focus?

Is it fear? Comparison? Pressure? People-pleasing? Sometimes the loudest distractions come from the quietest places—subtle thoughts, unmet needs, or temporary pleasures that feel good in the moment but lead us away from our purpose.

The truth is, even the smallest distraction can cause the greatest course correction. One moment of compromise, one hidden hurt, one wrong turn—can ripple into years of delay or pain. But when we slow down and name the distraction, we take away its power. We bring it into the light, where clarity and healing can happen.

Sometimes, what looks like a blessing may actually be a detour. That’s why spiritual awareness is so important—it helps us discern what’s true from what’s simply tempting.

Ask yourself: Is this leading me closer to my purpose—or pulling me away from it? What have I allowed to become louder than the truth (not what is true, because that can change)?

Distractions lose their grip when you begin to see them through spiritual eyes.

L – Lean on Spiritual Presence

You weren’t meant to carry everything on your own.

There is a deeper presence that surrounds and sustains you—one that offers peace, direction, and a sense of why when life feels uncertain.

For some, that presence is God, the Holy Spirit, or divine guidance. For others, it may show up as a quiet but undeniable sense of peace, a calling to love more deeply, or a desire to live with purpose.

This presence is not only what holds you up—it’s also what moves you forward. It’s the power behind your decisions, the reason you step into certain relationships, careers, or seasons of growth. It fuels your direction and anchors your soul when things get heavy.

So pause and ask yourself: What is the presence that’s guiding me right now? What truth is inviting me to stay grounded and move forward with intention?

Let that presence draw you back to the moment.

There—right where you are—is where peace, wisdom, and purpose live.

S – Speak Life Over Yourself

You are only as strong as the story you tell yourself.

Each day, you speak and listen to you more than anyone else in the world. So ask yourself: What are you saying? Are your words building you up—or breaking you down?

When discouragement comes, it’s not just about silencing negativity—it’s about replacing it with truth. Declarations of faith. Words rooted in divine promises. Speak life over your circumstances, your identity, your future.

Because here’s the truth: your brain doesn’t know when you’re lying to it. If you say you’re not good enough, it believes you. If you declare that you are called, equipped, and loved—it believes that too. That’s why it’s so vital to align your inner dialogue with spiritual truth.

Even when the outside world gets loud, your inner voice matters more. When you speak life, you train your spirit to rise—even when your emotions want to sink.

E – Engage the Moment

Come back to now. Breathe. Look around. Give thanks.

Be fully present with what’s in front of you—the people, the purpose, and even the process. This is where God is. Not just in the destination, but in the small steps, the quiet moments, and the everyday choices.

Whether you’re in calm waters or facing crashing waves, P.U.L.S.E. reminds you that you can live fully awake and spiritually grounded—without being swept away by distraction. You don’t have to be perfect—just present.

Engaging the moment also means reflecting on it. At the end of each day, take time to sit with what occurred. Replay the tape. This practice—used by athletes, leaders, and the spiritually wise—helps you stay grounded, make needed adjustments, and discern where life is

inviting you to shift or grow.

Ask yourself: Where did I feel most connected to purpose today? What moments did I rush through? What did I learn?

Stay anchored. Stay aware. Stay in rhythm with grace—and keep showing up for your life, one sacred moment at a time. When life threatens to pull you in a hundred directions, let P.U.L.S.E. bring you back. Back to center. Back to faith. Back to yourself.

You don’t have to walk perfectly—you just have to walk presently.
